We are currently recruiting for Trustees, Reception & Admin Support Volunteers.

Our service is delivered by volunteers who give there time to help others. We are extremely grateful to all our volunteers who provide this much needed free & confidential service to the people who live and work in Dacorum.

Providing clients information, advice & support

The main task of a Assessor volunteer is to talk to clients over the phone, face to face, or online to explore what concerns they might be facing.

The main role of a volunteer Generalist Adviser is to give advice based on the detailed exploration of a clients issue. Once the adviser has a complete picture they can then give the client the options available to them and the impact of those options on their situation. The client will be able to make an informed decision on how they want to proceed. The adviser can provide further assistance if required and it may require more than one meeting to deal with the clients concerns.
This role is not offered directly due to the amount of training, support, experience & knowledge required. Route to this role is via completing the Assessor training and gaining at least 9 months experience as an Assessor.
The main task of an Form Filler Caseworker is to provide face to face or telephone support for clients who need assistance completing Disability and/or Employment Capability forms produced by the Department of Works & Pensions.

As a trustee you’ll have the chance to help lead our organisation to make a real difference to our clients and the local community.
The board of trustees are responsible for deciding how our organisation is run, including deciding how resources are used, making sure our charity is fulfilling its purpose and has all the relevant policies and procedures in place.
Many trustees find it really rewarding, a great way of putting existing skills to use and a fantastic opportunity to learn new things from others.

The main tasks of a Customer Service (Reception) volunteer is to provide assistance to people visiting the Voluntary Sector area. They will provide information to people on how they can get support from Citizens Advice and inform advisers when a client with an appointment has arrived.
